Well, we’re really putting ourselves out there. Sarah Jensen and I (also known as Hello, Margeaux) are raising funds for the documentary we’re making in Milwaukee. If you’d like to find out more about the project and watch a trailer for what we’ve done so far – head on over to Kickstarter.
Shovels and Rope // Jonny Corndawg
Here are a couple of shots I took when Shovels and Rope rolled into town with Jonny Corndawg. Two very entertaining acts that you simply cannot miss when they stop in your town.
So Much Is Happening
Four things to tell you about:
1) Here is my latest Matt Moody video, featuring the men of By Lightning!
2) I started writing for one of my favorite photo websites – Fstoppers.com. Head on over there and read some of my first posts. I’m thrilled to be part of the Fstoppers team. It’s been lots of fun so far, and the people are the nicest.
3) My friend and collaborator Sarah Jensen and I have started production on a feature length documentary. We are filming primarily in Milwaukee, so we’ll be driving up there regularly over the next several months. It’s about football. It’s about music. It’s about Billy O’Neill. To hear more about the story and follow our progress – please like the Facebook page we made for our production company – Hello, Margeaux.
4) Annyong is still very cute.
Clouds and Constellations
This is an album cover I did with my friends Rod and Serai for their band Paris, Ontario. The album is called Clouds and Constellations, and it’s absolutely wonderful. Go buy it! They came up with the concept, and brought along some beautiful vintage fabrics. I set up my lights and crossed my fingers. With the exception of some color balancing and contrast, the image is straight out of camera. I’m so proud of this one, and glad to be working with such lovely and talented people. Here’s the final product:
New Website + Apologies
First of all, I want to sincerely apologize to both of my readers out there for being so inconsistent when it comes to this blog. I seem to go through seasons with it, and lately I’ve just been silent. Not for any particular reason. For months I’ve been making a laundry list of things to talk about on here, and I’m sure I’ll follow through with those things in due time.
I have since updated my main website. Please take a look: www.amyhobbs.com. I’ve added a video section, since I’ve been doing so much work for Matt Moody and Kat Brock. Feel free to tell me if anything is funky on your end. Feedback is much appreciated (especially from you, Mom).
Two New Videos!
Here’s a video I made for the lovely Kat Brock, singing her new song A Promise Made Is A Promise Good:
And here’s my latest Matt Moody production, for his song Name Your Heart. The song is featured in Mercedes Benz commercials worldwide:
Breakfasts in DC
After Christmas in Holly Pond, Annyong and I packed up and headed to DC to ring in the New Year. My best friend Katherine lives there. I wish I could take credit for the food preparation in these shots – Katherine is a fabulous cook. Everything she made tasted fantastic, but not only that – it was quite photogenic. And this was just breakfast!
Happy 2012 to you all! I hope that so far, it’s so good.
Merry Christmas to All.
Ranger
Here are some photos from a recent shoot I had with a local band called Ranger. They’re in the process of creating a new album. Check out their Kickstarter campaign to read all about it.
