This is an album cover I did with my friends Rod and Serai for their band Paris, Ontario. The album is called Clouds and Constellations, and it’s absolutely wonderful. Go buy it! They came up with the concept, and brought along some beautiful vintage fabrics. I set up my lights and crossed my fingers. With the exception of some color balancing and contrast, the image is straight out of camera. I’m so proud of this one, and glad to be working with such lovely and talented people. Here’s the final product:
New Website + Apologies
First of all, I want to sincerely apologize to both of my readers out there for being so inconsistent when it comes to this blog. I seem to go through seasons with it, and lately I’ve just been silent. Not for any particular reason. For months I’ve been making a laundry list of things to talk about on here, and I’m sure I’ll follow through with those things in due time.
I have since updated my main website. Please take a look: www.amyhobbs.com. I’ve added a video section, since I’ve been doing so much work for Matt Moody and Kat Brock. Feel free to tell me if anything is funky on your end. Feedback is much appreciated (especially from you, Mom).
Two New Videos!
Here’s a video I made for the lovely Kat Brock, singing her new song A Promise Made Is A Promise Good:
And here’s my latest Matt Moody production, for his song Name Your Heart. The song is featured in Mercedes Benz commercials worldwide:
Breakfasts in DC
After Christmas in Holly Pond, Annyong and I packed up and headed to DC to ring in the New Year. My best friend Katherine lives there. I wish I could take credit for the food preparation in these shots – Katherine is a fabulous cook. Everything she made tasted fantastic, but not only that – it was quite photogenic. And this was just breakfast!
Happy 2012 to you all! I hope that so far, it’s so good.
Merry Christmas to All.
Ranger
Here are some photos from a recent shoot I had with a local band called Ranger. They’re in the process of creating a new album. Check out their Kickstarter campaign to read all about it.
Ain’t No Way
Here’s my latest stop motion project. It’s the music video for my friend Matt Moody‘s song ‘Ain’t No Way.’ The song is on his album El Baile De Los Muertos, set to release on December 10th. The release party is an art show featuring work done by Matt’s wife (she and her work can be seen in this video). Yours truly will also be showing a piece, so keep an eye out for more info on that.
Also – check out what The Scene is saying about Matt. And watch this Mercedes Benz commercial that features his song “Name Your Heart.” Good stuff!
I’ve got lots of new portraits to share with you, as well as some more music work AND photos from my Maine roadtrip. Stay tuned!

Evan
Please keep the family of Evan Thomason in your thoughts and prayers. This incredible 10-year old boy lost his fight with neuroblastoma early yesterday morning. I had the pleasure of meeting Evan and his family at their home in Birmingham just a few weeks ago. I was absolutely blown away by his bravery, his sincerity and his smile.
